Two Men Arrested by LSP SVU for Possession and Distribution of Unlawful Deepfakes

Baton Rouge – In July of 2024, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU), working in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations, Baton Rouge Field Office (HSI BRFO), Louisiana Probation & Parole West Baton Rouge Office, United States Marshals Service (USMS), LSP Fugitive Apprehension Unit (LSP FAU), and LSP Criminal Investigations Division, Baton Rouge Field Office (CID BRFO), began an investigation into the possession of unlawful deepfakes. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 40-year-old Ryan Glaser of Oscar, LA and 24-year-old Gregory Duncan Jr., of New Roads, LA.

On July 15, 2024, LSP SVU was contacted by Louisiana Probation & Parole West Baton Rouge Office regarding the discovery of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) during a routine cellular inspection of Ryan Glaser, a convicted sex offender. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Glaser in the 18th Judicial District Court on July 23, 2024.  He was arrested and charged with four (4) counts of Possession of Unlawful Deepfakes, and booked into the West Baton Rouge Prison.

Following Glaser’s arrest, investigators determined that a second individual, Gregory Duncan Jr., created and distributed the child sexual abuse material to Glaser.  An arrest warrant was obtained for Duncan Jr., in the 18th Judicial District Court. He was arrested by the LSP FAU on February 4, 2025, charged with Distribution of Unlawful Deepfakes, and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail.

LSP SVU works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor through investigative partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and through public education. The public plays an important role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity. The Louisiana State Police online reporting system is available to the public through an anonymous reporting form that is submitted to the appropriate investigators. The form can be found by visiting http://la-safe.org/ and clicking on the “Suspicious Activity” link.
