Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Arrested for Cruelty to a Juvenile  

Lafayette Parish – In February 2025, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was contacted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) regarding allegations of cruelty to a juvenile involving a deputy with LPSO. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Matthew Frost of Lafayette.  

As a result of the investigation, detectives found that Frost committed the offense of cruelty to a juvenile against a single victim on two separate occasions in June 2024. As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained through the 15th JDC, charging Frost with two counts of LA RS 14:93 Cruelty to a Juvenile (felony). 

On March 3, 2025, Frost was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
