Child safety seats and booster seats, when used properly, save lives. They offer the best protection for children in the event of a crash. The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates child restraints have saved the lives of over 11,000 children under the age of five since 1975. It is important caregivers ensure children are properly restrained in an appropriate child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt – every trip, every time.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission has provided support for this event.
Anyone who is unable to attend and would like to have a child safety seat inspected may make an appointment with Louisiana State Police Troop D by calling 337-491-2466 or visiting www.facebook.com/BuckleUpLouisiana for additional fitting station locations throughout Louisiana.
