Child Safety Seat Check Event in Bossier City

Bossier City – On Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., there will be a child passenger safety seat check event. The event will take place at Willis-Knighton Bossier Medical Center, located at 2400 Hospital Dr. This free event will take place regardless of weather conditions, and appointments are not required.

It is a well-established fact that car seats and booster seats play a crucial role in saving lives. These devices provide the best protection for children in the unfortunate event of a crash. However, approximately three out of four child seats are not used correctly. This misuse can be attributed to the wide variety of child seats available and the diverse range of vehicles on the market today. Misuse of child seats cuts across all races, educational backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), properly used child restraints have saved over 11,000 lives in the past 30 years. This underscores the vital responsibility of caregivers to ensure that children are securely restrained in an appropriate child safety seat, booster seat, or seat belt whenever they are traveling in a vehicle.

We invite you to join our certified technicians on Saturday to ensure your child's safety. If you are unable to attend the event, we encourage you to visit your local Louisiana State Police Patrol Troop for assistance with the proper installation of your child's seat. Each Troop serves as a certified child passenger safety checkup station. For more information on technician locations in your area, please visit LHSC.
