Silver Alert: Assistance Needed Locating Missing Turkey Creek Man

Evangeline Parish – Louisiana State Police has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office for 74-year-old Melvin Johnston. He was last seen at his residence on Mayo Road in Turkey Creek on October 21, 2024, and discovered missing at approximately 4:30 a.m.

Johnston is a white male with short brown and gray hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 5’8” tall and weighs approximately 164 lbs. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Johnston is traveling on foot in an unknown direction.

Johnston suffers from a medical condition that impairs his judgment.

Anyone having information regarding the whereabouts of Johnston should immediately contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-363-2161 or local law enforcement by dialing 911.
