Troop C offers vehicle physical inspections and trailer stamps for residents every Tuesday through Thursday, excluding holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For additional details, please contact the desk supervisor at (985) 857-3680, Ext. 0.
Physical Inspections are administrative in nature, verifying vehicle identification numbers for the Office of Motor Vehicle registration process. Vehicle paperwork recommended for the inspection includes title, bill of sale, or purchase/ownership paperwork, and proof of liability insurance. Please allow approximately 10 to 15 minutes per vehicle inspection.
Trailer Stamps can also be obtained at Troop C. Homemade trailers, by definition, are trailers built by, or for, the owner from scratch. When purchasing a trailer, ensure the trailer does not have a preexisting vehicle identification number or serial number. If the trailer has a preexisting vehicle identification number or serial number, a title is required and the trailer does not have to be brought to the Troop for inspection. Please review the policy listed on the Office of Motor Vehicles website, “Expresslane.org” for information. LSP-assigned vehicle identification numbers will only be assigned to homemade trailers with documents.
Child Safety Seat Inspections are conducted every Wednesday, excluding holidays, at Terrebonne General Hospital (8166 W Main St, Houma, LA) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Child Safety Seat Inspections at the troop are by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome but may be subject to extended waiting periods or rescheduling.
