Notice of Suspension

Since your license was suspended at the time of this notice of suspension was issued, your vehicle’s registration privileges will be revoked and blocked at renewal. In order to be placed in compliance, you will be required to:

  1. Comply with all laws and regulations, including payments of fees and penalties due, to have your privileges reinstated; and
  2. A $10.00 reinstatement fee will apply to this violation

Your right to seek review of this action is provided in La R.S. 32:414 (F)(4) which provides you have 30 days to challenge this action in Court. You should review this law and consult with you own attorney to determine your rights. Neither the officer who gave you this ticket nor any employee of the Office of Motor Vehicles can give you legal advice.

The owner has (10) business days to reinstate their driving privileges. If they cannot, or do not, comply with all reinstatement requirements within the ten (10) days of the receipt of the notice of driver’s license suspension, the Office of Motor Vehicles shall destroy the seized license plate. The owner can apply for a hardship plate and if they qualify the department may issue the plate to be placed on the motor vehicle. The hardship plate is not an authorization to drive if the driver’s license is suspended.  If the owner does not reinstate their driving privileges within ten (10) business days and the vehicle is driven with an expired sticker, the motor vehicle shall be impounded.
