Galliano – On September 6, 2025, shortly after 6:00 am, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop C were notified of a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 3235, just north of the town of Golden Meadow in Lafourche Parish. The crash claimed the life of 63-year-old Clovis Vizier of Galliano.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Vizier was driving a 2014 Kawasaki Teryx UTV, south on the northbound shoulder of LA Hwy 3235. At the same time, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on LA Hwy 3235. For reasons still under investigation, as the Kawasaki attempted to cross LA Hwy 3235, it entered the southbound lanes and was struck by the approaching Silverado.
Vizier was unrestrained and died at the scene. The driver of the Silverado was properly restrained and uninjured.
Although impairment was not suspected on the part of the Silverado’s driver, they voluntarily provided a breath sample which showed no alcohol detected. A standard toxicology sample was collected from Vizier and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Troopers wish to remind the public that the use of ATVs and UTVs on roadways is illegal unless directly related to farming or other duties outlined by Louisiana Revised Statue 32:299. Additionally, properly utilizing safety equipment, such as DOT-approved helmets while on motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs and seatbelts when riding in UTVs can decrease the risk of serious injury or death.
