Unrestrained Woman Killed in Ascension Parish Crash
Gonzales – Shortly before 11:30 am on August 2nd, 2021, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 938 (Coon Trap Road) north of LA Hwy 74 in Ascension Parish. The crash took the life of 35-year-old Jasy Hunt of Gonzales.
The initial investigation revealed the crash occurred as 26-year-old Levi Mitchell of Prairieville was traveling northbound on LA Hwy 938 in a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. Hunt was the front seat passenger in the Hyundai. At the same time, a 2017 Freightliner box truck was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 938.
