Napoleonville – On November 26, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C responded to a single vehicle serious injury crash on Franklin Avenue near Philospher Street in Assumption Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 71-year-old Lonnie Robinson of Napoleonville.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Robinson was driving a 2008 Nissan Rogue west on Franklin Street. For reasons still under investigation, the Nissan ran off the roadway and struck a residence.
Robinson, who was not restrained at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
A standard toxicology sample was collected from Robinson and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being severely injured or killed in a crash. Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries during crashes.
