Unrestrained Motorist Killed in Single Vehicle Crash in St. James Parish
Gramercy – Shortly before 2:30 p.m. on April 21, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash on US 61 north of LA 3274 in St. James Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 29-year-old Aaron Gremillion of Denham Springs.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Gremillion was traveling north on US 61 in a 2013 Cadillac SRX in the left lane. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway to the left, traveled into the median, and overturned.
Gremillion was unrestrained, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Impairment is not suspected; however, a routine toxicology sample will be obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police reminds motorists that proper restraint use significantly reduces the risk of serious injury or death in a crash. Making responsible decisions behind the wheel, including wearing a seat belt and remaining attentive, can save lives. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
