Estherwood – On February 25, 2026, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 1124 near Louisiana Highway 90 in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 40-year-old Ashley Granger of Morse.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford F-150, driven by Granger, was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 1124 approaching Louisiana Highway 90. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford crossed the centerline, ran off the roadway, and overturned.

Granger, who was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chances of being severely injured or killed in a crash. Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries during crashes.
