Unrestrained Juvenile Passenger Killed in Single-Vehicle East Feliciana Parish Crash

Norwood – Shortly after 2:00 p.m. on December 30, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single-vehicle crash on LA 19 at Thompson Creek Road. The crash claimed the life of a 15-year-old passenger.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Ford F-550 flatbed tow truck was traveling south on LA 19 near Thompson Creek Road. For reasons still under investigation, the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway, crossed both lanes of travel, and exited the left side of the roadway, where it struck a tree and overturned.

The driver, who was unrestrained, was ejected from the vehicle, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A juvenile front-seat passenger, who was also unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted; follow all traffic laws, and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
