Unrestrained Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Tangipahoa Parish Crash
Kentwood – Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on May 28, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA 1057 near Milburn Grace Road in Tangipahoa Parish. The crash claimed the life of 43-year-old Jerome Warren of Franklinton.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Warren, was traveling east on LA 1057. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet traveled off the right side of the road. As a result, Warren overcorrected and traveled back across the road and into the westbound lane of LA 1057. The right side of the Chevrolet then struck a 2021 Western Star tractor-trailer traveling west on LA 1057. After impact, both vehicles left the roadway and entered the tree line.
Warren was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Troopers wish to remind motorists that seat belts remain one of the most effective ways to reduce serious injuries and fatalities in crashes. Drivers should also remain attentive behind the wheel and avoid distractions that can lead to dangerous situations on the roadway. Making safe and responsible decisions while driving can help save lives.
