Unrestrained Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Webster Parish Crash
Minden – This morning, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on Dorcheat Road north of Grigsby Road in Webster Parish. The crash claimed the life of 70-year-old John Waldron of Sibley.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford pickup, driven by Waldron, was traveling north on Dorcheat Road. For reasons still under investigation, Waldron’s vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree.
Waldron, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Although impairment is not suspected, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
While not all crashes are survivable, proper use of seat belts can greatly decrease an occupant’s chance of death and may greatly reduce the extent of injuries. Ensuring every occupant is properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.
