Unrestrained Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Lincoln Parish Crash
Ruston – Earlier today, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 33 south of Louisiana Highway 3072. The crash claimed the life of 54-year-old Doshie Goodjoint.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by Goodjoint, was traveling south on Louisiana Highway 33. For reasons still under investigation, Goodjoint’s vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree.
Goodjoint, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Although impairment is not suspected, routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being severely injured or killed in a crash. Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Properly wearing your seat belt is one of the most effective ways to save your life and reduce injuries during crashes.
