Unrestrained Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle East Feliciana Parish Crash

Ethel – Shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 957 at Castello Road. The crash claimed the life of 37-year-old Alfrederick Jackson of Ethel.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2023 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north on LA 957. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway to the right and struck a tree.

Jackson was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. Impairment is not suspected at this time; however, a routine toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers urge drivers to always make safe decisions behind the wheel: never drive impaired, always wear a seat belt, and avoid distractions. Taking a few extra seconds to buckle up or slow down can be the difference between life and death.
