Troopers Investigating Two-Vehicle Fatal Crash in Livingston Parish
Livingston – Shortly before 4:45 a.m. on August 24, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash on LA 444 near Dutch Lane in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Tyionne Bause of Lutcher.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Bause was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima east on LA 444. At the same time, a 2014 GMC Sierra was traveling west on LA 444. For reasons still under investigation, Bause attempted to pass another vehicle traveling ahead of her and entered the westbound lane, where the Nissan struck the GMC head-on.
Bause was unrestrained, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the GMC was also unrestrained and was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples will be collected and submitted for analysis.
Troopers want to remind motorists that passing requires careful judgment and a clear view of oncoming traffic. Motorists should only attempt to pass when it is legal and safe to do so. Additionally, properly wearing a seat belt remains one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of serious injury or death in a crash.
