On April 9, 2025, Troopers assigned to Troop NOLA arrested 27-year-old Anthony Reed of New Orleans, an employee of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), following a traffic stop investigation.

At approximately 12:00 p.m., Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota sedan, driven by Reed, for multiple traffic violations on North Claiborne Avenue near Elysian Fields Avenue.

During the investigation, Troopers discovered approximately 218 grams of suspected marijuana in the rear seat of the vehicle, along with items consistent with the distribution of illegal narcotics.

Reed was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Prison for Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana) and additional traffic-related offenses.

DCFS Secretary David Matlock issued the following statement:

“The safety and well-being of children and families is our highest priority. When a situation arises involving one of our staff members that calls that commitment into question, we take it seriously.

We are grateful to our law enforcement partners for their continued collaboration and dedication to public safety. Their work plays an essential role in upholding accountability and maintaining trust across the systems that serve Louisiana’s families.”
