Minden – Earlier today, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 518 near Posey Lane. The crash claimed the life of 63-year-old Eva Hunt of Doyline.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Dodge Durango, driven by 35-year-old Tiffany Conley of Bossier City, was traveling west on Louisiana Highway 518. For reasons still under investigation, the Dodge exited the roadway, collided with an embankment, and overturned.

Conley, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Hunt, who was properly restrained in the front passenger seat, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During the investigation, impairment on the part of Conley was suspected. Conley was subsequently placed under arrest and processed in the Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for vehicular homicide. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Alcohol and drug impairment remain a contributing factor in nearly half of all fatal crashes in Louisiana. These substances severely impact your awareness, decision-making abilities, and reaction times, leading to devastating consequences on the road. Troopers wish to remind motorists of the importance of making good decisions while operating a motor vehicle. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted, and obey all traffic laws. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions like these can mean the difference between life and death.
