**UPDATE** State Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting in Shreveport 
Shreveport– On Thursday, February 9, 2023, shortly before 5:00 p.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested by the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the 400 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, within the city limits of Shreveport.

The initial investigation revealed that SPD officers were dispatched to a shooting that occurred at a local retail store located in the 9400 block of Linwood Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers encountered the subject.  He fled from officers on foot, which resulted in a foot pursuit.  While fleeing from officers, He pointed a firearm at them and was subsequently shot.  he was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Louisiana State Police is the lead investigating agency in this officer-involved shooting incident; however, SPD will handle all appropriate charges.  The incident scene was processed by Louisiana State Police Crime Lab Technicians.  The investigation remains ongoing, with further information to be released in coordination with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office at the appropriate time.

Shreveport- Troopers are investigating an officer-involved shooting near the 400 block of West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, within the city limits of Shreveport, at the request of the Shreveport Police Department (SPD).  One subject was shot and received non-life-threatening injuries.  No officers were injured during the incident.

This is an active scene, please utilize alternate routes around the area to allow for the movement of emergency vehicles and investigative personnel.
