Louisiana law requires anyone involved in or causing a crash to stop at the scene, provide their information, and render reasonable aid. Leaving the scene of any crash can result in severe consequences. Additionally, practicing pedestrian safety guidelines while walking near roadways is crucial in reducing the risk of crashes. Pedestrians should never walk on interstate systems, elevated portions of highways, or in the lanes of travel of any roadway. Additionally, anyone walking near roadways should always wear brightly colored clothing or use reflective accessories when walking in low-light conditions, which can significantly improve visibility for drivers. By following these practices, pedestrians can enhance their safety and minimize the chances of crashes.
