Plaquemine Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Iberville Parish

Plaquemine – Shortly after 8:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash on LA 75 near Mendoza Road in Iberville Parish. The crash claimed the life of 36-year-old Daniel Hall of Plaquemine.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Pontiac Torrent, driven by Hall, was traveling north on LA 75. At the same time, a 2019 Mack concrete truck was traveling south on LA 75. For reasons still under investigation, Hall lost control of the Pontiac, crossed the centerline, and collided with the Mack truck.

Hall was unrestrained and was pronounced deceased on the scene. A juvenile passenger in the Pontiac was properly restrained, suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Mack truck was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is not suspected, but routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving: avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions. Follow traffic laws and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
