Pedestrian Killed in Late Night Crash in Livingston Parish

Livingston – Shortly before 10:45 p.m. on June 28, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on LA 63 near Oliver Wheat Road in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 47-year-old Matthew Migliore of St. Amant.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Migliore was walking north in the northbound lane of LA 63. At the same time, a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north in the northbound lane on LA 63. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet struck Migliore as he was walking in the northbound lane of LA 63.

Migliore sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is unknown at this time; however, routine toxicology samples were taken and will be submitted for analysis.

Troopers urge all pedestrians and motorists to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. Pedestrians should cross roadways at well-lit intersections and wear reflective clothing when walking near traffic, especially at night. These safety practices are critical in reducing preventable tragedies on our roadways.
