Pedestrian Killed in Late Night Crash in East Baton Rouge Parish

Baton Rouge – Just before 1:30 a.m. on June 19, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a fatal crash involving two pedestrians on LA 42 near Petroleum Drive in East Baton Rouge Parish. The crash claimed the life of 21-year-old Kaci Davison of Port Allen.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Mazda 6 was traveling east on LA 42 in the left lane when it struck two pedestrians who were in the roadway. Davison sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene. A second pedestrian sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Mazda was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is not a suspected factor in this crash; however, standard toxicology samples will be collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers urge all pedestrians and motorists to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings at all times. Pedestrians should cross roadways at well-lit intersections and wear reflective clothing when walking near traffic, especially at night. These safety practices are critical in reducing preventable tragedies on our roadways.
