Covington – Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on May 26, 2025, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a two-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 437, near South Fitzmorris Road in St. Tammany Parish. The crash tragically claimed the life of 53-year-old Marie Henry of Mukilteo, Washington.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on LA Hwy 437, while a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 437. The driver of the Nissan and two additional passengers, all of whom were properly restrained, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also transported to a local hospital. All occupants of the Chevrolet were properly restrained and were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As part of the ongoing investigation, routine toxicology samples were collected from both drivers for analysis.

Louisiana State Police urge all motorists to drive responsibly, obey traffic laws, and avoid driving while impaired, fatigued, or distracted. Always ensure every occupant in the vehicle is properly restrained. To report hazardous driving, dial *LSP (*577).
