North Carolina Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish

Denham Springs – Shortly before midnight on January 30, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of LA 1032 and Hunter’s Way in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 18-year-old Cayden Callihan of Whiteville, North Carolina.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Callihan was driving a 2008 Honda Accord east on Hunter’s Way as he approached the intersection of LA 1032. At the same time, a 2022 Ford F-150 was traveling south on LA 1032. For reasons still under investigation, Callihan attempted to turn left onto LA 1032 and entered the path of the Ford, which struck the Honda on its left side.

Callihan was properly restrained, suffered serious injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Ford was also properly restrained and sustained minor injuries. Impairment is not suspected; however, routine toxicology samples will be obtained and submitted for analysis.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving: avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions. Follow traffic laws and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
