St. Tammany Parish - On May 4, 2026, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit, working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested 31-year-old Richard Nelson of New Orleans for attempting to engage in sexual acts with a minor.
Nelson traveled from his residence in New Orleans to a meeting location in St. Tammany Parish with the intent to engage in sexual activity with a minor. As a result, Nelson was arrested for Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Indecent Behavior with Juvenile, and Attempted Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile. He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. This case remains active and no further information is available at this time.
