New Orleans Man Arrested for Motorcycle Thefts in Gonzales

New Orleans – The Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit New Orleans Field Office (LSP-IFAT-NOFO) and Criminal Investigations Division New Orleans Field Office (CID-NOFO) assisted the Gonzales Police Department (GPD) with an investigation regarding a series of motorcycle thefts in Ascension Parish, within the city limits of Gonzales. The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of 28-year-old David Williams Jr., of New Orleans.

During the investigation detectives learned that several motorcycles, including a 2006 Suzuki Hyabusa and a 2024 Kawasaki ZX6R, were stolen from Gonzales on April 16 and 18, 2025. Working closely with GPD, detectives identified Williams as a suspect through investigative means.

On April 22, 2025, LSP detectives and Troopers assigned to Troop NOLA collaborated with GPD to execute search warrants at Williams’ residence and a nearby property in New Orleans. The search resulted in the recovery of the Kawasaki from the residence and the Suzuki from the nearby property. Williams was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Corrections Center for Possession of Stolen Property (2 counts).

The investigation remains ongoing as the LSP-IFAT-NOFO continues to focus on combating crimes related to auto theft and insurance fraud. The public is a crucial partner in identifying individuals involved in these crimes and is strongly urged to report criminal or suspicious activity to the LSP-IFAT via
