Kenner – On April 2, 2025, shortly before 3:00 p.m., detectives from the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Seventh District contacted Louisiana State Police (LSP) detectives assigned to the Violent Crime Abatement Investigative Team (VCAIT), after an armed robbery occurred involving the theft of a 2022 Dodge “Scat Pack” Charger in the 4400 Block of America Street in New Orleans. The investigation ultimately led to the arrests of 26-year-old Charles Brown of Baton Rouge and 22-year-old Terry Williams of New Orleans.

On the same day, around 4:00 p.m., through investigative methods, detectives learned that the Charger was traveling in Kenner. While coordinating with Troop B, Troopers located the stolen Charger near Williams Boulevard and Veterans Memorial Boulevard. As they attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the Charger, later identified as Charles Brown, fled from troopers. The brief pursuit ended at Delaware Avenue and 24th Street when the Charger was involved in a crash with an LSP vehicle. As part of the investigation, Troopers discovered two firearms inside the vehicle, one of which was stolen, and approximately 125 grams of Marijuana.

Brown and Williams, who was a passenger in the Charger, were uninjured in the crash, arrested, and booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

Brown: Aggravated Flight From An Officer, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Proceeds from Drug Transactions, Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana), Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Warrant from NOPD for Armed Robbery.

Williams: Possession of Stolen Property, Possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana), Warrant from NOPD for Armed Robbery.

VCAIT is a joint partnership between the FBI, NOPD, and LSP, whose primary mission is to address and combat violent crime within the New Orleans area. As great as our partnerships are with area agencies, we cannot have the success of fighting crime without the public’s assistance. We continue to encourage anyone to report suspicious activity and provide tips through our anonymous and secure online reporting system, available at https://speed-online.dps.la.gov/SuspiciousActivity/SAR?OpenForm or by calling the LSP Fusion Center Hotline at 1-800-434-8007.
