Washington – On October 24, 2026, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Louisiana Highway 103, south of Wedgewood Road. This crash claimed the life of a 53-year-old man from Washington.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Harley-Davidson was traveling north on LA 103. For reasons still under investigation, the Harley-Davidson failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, exited the roadway to the left, and struck an embankment.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash.

A standard toxicology sample was collected from the motorcyclist and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers urge all motorists to make responsible decisions while operating a motor vehicle.
