Marrero – On Sunday, March 30, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B were notified of a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on LA 45 near Pritchard Road in Jefferson Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 51-year-old Ronald Arnaud Jr. of Marrero.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Arnaud was driving a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on LA 45, approaching Pritchard Road. For reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle ran off the right side of the roadway and traveled through a ditch, ejecting Arnaud.
Arnaud was not wearing a DOT-approved helmet, suffered severe injuries, and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. Impairment is believed to be a factor in this crash; standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Whether riding a motorcycle or driving a vehicle, drivers should make responsible choices on the road. Always follow speed limits, wear a DOT-approved helmet, and buckle up. Most importantly, never drive impaired- alcohol, drugs, or even certain medications can severely impair judgment, reaction time, and coordination, making it dangerous for everyone. Remember, if you feel different, you drive different. Prioritize safety and consider enrolling in the Department of Public Safety’s motorcycle training courses, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
