Mamou Man Arrested for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Narcotics

Mamou – On July 31, 2024, the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit (LSP SVU) arrested an individual on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material and narcotics. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Trevor Matthews Sr. of Mamou. 

 

Investigators identified an IP address downloading suspected child sexual abuse material. As the investigation progressed, LSP SVU obtained a search warrant from the Evangeline Parish 13th Judicial District Court for a residence belonging to Matthews. Child sexual abuse material and approximately 15 grams of suspected marijuana was located as a result of the search. 

 

Matthews was arrested and booked into the Evangeline Parish Correctional Center for LARS 14:81.1 - pornography involving juveniles and LARS 40:966 - possession of schedule I narcotics. This case remains under investigation.
