LSP Special Victims Unit Arrests Baton Rouge Man Following Joint Operation

Baton Rouge – Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU), in partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Baton Rouge Field Office, conducted an operation targeting individuals seeking to exploit children. The operation resulted in the arrest of 62-year-old Michael Dauzat of Baton Rouge.

On November 13, 2025, LSP detectives and FBI agents conducted an operation in East Baton Rouge Parish utilizing various social media platforms. During the operation, Dauzat engaged in explicit conversations with investigators and arranged to meet what he believed to be a fifteen-year-old boy for sexual activity. Investigators also learned that Dauzat was employed by the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

On November 18, 2025, Dauzat was arrested for Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Indecent Behavior with Juveniles. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. Digital forensic analysis is pending, and the investigation is ongoing.

LSP SVU works to rescue and seek justice for the victims of crimes involving the exploitation of children and the trafficking of humans for sex or labor through investigative partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and through public education. The public plays a vital role in identifying suspects accused of these crimes and is urged to report criminal or suspicious activity. The Louisiana State Police online reporting system is available to the public through an anonymous reporting form that is submitted to the appropriate investigators. The form can be found by visiting http://la-safe.org/ and clicking on the “Suspicious Activity” link.
