Louisiana State Police Troopers Safely Recover Two Florida AMBER Alert Victims

Lincoln Parish – Earlier today, Troop F Troopers received information from Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Florida regarding an active AMBER Alert involving two missing children.  The missing children were reported to be traveling westbound on I-20.  At approximately 12:13 p.m., Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a silver Nissan Rogue, which matched the description listed in the AMBER Alert.  The Nissan came to a brief stop on I-20 westbound, just east of LA-145, before fleeing the scene.

Troopers and Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Deputies briefly pursued the Nissan before a tire deflation device was successfully deployed.  The driver, later identified as 41-year-old Dixie Williams, came to a stop and was taken into custody without incident.  Once the vehicle was stopped, Troopers safely recovered the missing children from the AMBER Alert, a one-year-old female and a five-year-old female.

Williams had an active warrant from Florida for two (2) counts of kidnapping.  Williams was arrested and booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for the kidnapping warrant, resisting an officer, aggravated flight from an officer, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, two (2) counts of no child passenger restraint system, and no seat belt use.  The two children were released to the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services.
