Louisiana State Police Investigating In-Custody Death in Allen Parish

Allen Parish – On September 25, 2025, just before 12:00 p.m., Detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division – Lake Charles Field Office were requested by the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) to investigate an in-custody death.

The preliminary investigation revealed that APSO deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Ward Line Road in Kinder. After being taken into custody, a subject later showed signs of medical distress and was transported to a nearby hospital, where they died. No deputies were injured during the incident.

The investigation remains active, and no further information is available at this time.
