Louisiana State Police Detectives Investigating Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy-Involved Shooting

Tickfaw – Louisiana State Police detectives are continuing their investigation into a deputy-involved shooting involving the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) that occurred on November 11, 2025.

The preliminary investigation revealed that shortly after 2:30 p.m., TPSO deputies responded to a residence on Waltrip Lane in Tickfaw following a 911 call reporting a male subject threatening self-harm.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that the subject had barricaded himself inside the residence. Deputies engaged in extended negotiations with the subject. After negotiations, the subject exited the residence but failed to comply with deputies’ commands, prompting the use of non-lethal law enforcement measures. During the encounter, the subject produced a firearm. In response, a deputy discharged their service weapon, striking the subject.

The subject was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment and is listed in stable condition.

This investigation remains active, and additional information may be released as it becomes available.

Tickfaw – On November 11, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a deputy-involved shooting that occurred on Waltrip Lane near LA Hwy 442 in Tickfaw.

Investigators are working to process the scene and gather further information. One suspect was shot and has been transported to a local hospital for treatment. No deputies were harmed during the incident.

This remains an active investigation. Additional details will be released as they become available.
