Louisiana State Police Detectives Investigating Marksville Police Department

Officer-Involved Shooting

Marksville– On June 15, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were requested by the Marksville Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Laurel Street in Marksville. Detectives are working to process the scene and gather further information.

One subject was shot and then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Both officers suffered minor injuries but were released following medical treatment. This is an active investigation; further information will be released when it becomes available.
