Louisiana State Police Arrest Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver for Narcotics
Port Allen – On February 14, 2025, shortly before 9:30 a.m., a Trooper working Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) enforcement conducted a traffic stop on LA 415 north of Interstate 10 in Port Allen. The traffic stop ultimately resulted in the seizure of approximately $1.1 million in U.S. currency, 183 pounds of marijuana, 7 grams of cocaine, and the arrest of 29-year-old Lenny Collado of Charlotte, NC.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2019 International Harvester tractor trailer to perform a Level 2 CMV Inspection. While conducting the inspection, the Trooper observed a white plastic bag on the floorboard with what appeared to be a large sum of cash. A search was initiated with the assistance of West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office investigative and patrol deputies. During the search, approximately $1,147,638.00 in U.S. currency, approximately 183 pounds of suspected marijuana, and approximately 7 grams of suspected cocaine was seized.
Collado was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoids and Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses. He was booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
