Lafayette – In October 2024, the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud / Auto Theft (IFAT) unit, in collaboration with the Kentucky State Police, initiated an investigation into theft and illegal monetary transactions conducted through an online marketplace. The investigation led to the arrest of 48-year-old Teresa Holcomb of Annville, Kentucky.

As the investigation progressed, detectives uncovered evidence linking Holocomb to multiple fraudulent schemes. Detectives determined that Holocomb intentionally deprived the victim of $1,330.00 through a widely-used digital payment platform and failed to deliver the promised goods.

The investigation revealed that Holocomb committed offenses of Theft and Illegal Transmission of Monetary Funds. An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained, and Holocomb was arrested in Kentucky on February 21, 2025. On March 21, 2025, Holocomb was transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center where she was booked on 14:67 Theft (2 counts) and 14:70.8 Illegal Transmission of Monetary Funds (2 Counts).
