Juvenile Killed in Rapides Parish UTV Crash

Rapides Parish – On June 22, 2025, at approximately 12:06 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash on West River Road south of Louisiana Highway 462. This crash claimed the life of 13-year-old Kyndal Vidrine of Oakdale.

The initial investigation revealed that a Can-Am Outlander Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), driven by a Juvenile, was traveling north on West River Road. For reasons still under investigation, the Juvenile lost control of the vehicle which caused it to leave the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the Can-Am struck a parked Honda Foreman UTV. This action ejected both Juveniles from the Can-Am and the driver of the Honda Foreman from the vehicles.

Vidrine sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The juvenile driver and the Honda Foreman driver sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
