St. Landry Parish – On March 28, 2025, the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit (LSP-IFAT) Breaux Bridge Field Office, in collaboration with the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV), initiated an investigation into allegations of fraudulent paperwork being processed across multiple offices.
The investigation began after supervisors at the Breaux Bridge OMV office reported a rise in suspicious activity. In response, investigators from LSP-IFAT and OMV collaborated to gather evidence and identify patterns of fraud. Through detailed analysis, investigators uncovered numerous fraudulent documents, including fake proofs of insurance, bills of sale, and vehicle titles. As a result, five individuals were arrested:

Jose Luis Alarcon (34): 12 counts of LA R.S. 14:133 - Filing False Public Records and 1 count of LA R.S. 14:100.13 - Operating a Vehicle Without Lawful Presence in the United States

Siervo Amador (32): 32 counts of LA R.S. 14:133 - Filing False Public Records
David Steven Amador (19): 32 counts of LA R.S. 14:133 - Filing False Public Records
