Investigation Leads to Arrest of Caddo Parish Deputy for Insurance Fraud

Caddo Parish – On August 11, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit arrested a Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy on criminal charges. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 50-year-old Frank Launer III of Blanchard.

The investigation began in May 2025 when investigators received reports from the Louisiana Department of Insurance alleging that Launer committed automobile insurance fraud. As the investigation progressed, investigators learned that in April 2025, Launer was involved in a motor vehicle crash, during which he was operating his vehicle without insurance coverage. The investigation revealed that Launer subsequently contacted the insurance company to obtain coverage for his vehicle after the crash occurred, and then reported the crash to the insurance company later that same day.

As a result of the investigation and information obtained, an arrest warrant was obtained through the 1st JDC, charging Launer with automobile insurance fraud. Launer was arrested and processed in the Caddo Correctional Center on the above charge.

“The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office does not condone the alleged actions attributed to Frank Launer”, said Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn. “We fully support the Louisiana State Police in their ongoing investigation into this matter.”
