Pedestrians and motorists alike are urged to stay alert while on local roads and pay close attention to their environment. By following some simple safety tips, pedestrian-related crashes can often be prevented. Pedestrians should wear light-colored or reflective clothing and should never walk on the road in dimly lit areas. Additionally, pedestrians should always assume that oncoming drivers cannot see them, especially in the evening. To further ensure safety, pedestrians should only cross roads in well-lit, designated areas and always face the traffic while walking.
