Driver Killed in Jefferson Davis Parish Interstate-10 Crash

Welsh – On October 9, 2025, just before 12:00 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on Interstate-10 East near mile marker 51 in Jefferson Davis Parish. The crash claimed the life of 22-year-old Baominh Nguyen of Houston, Texas.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed that Nguyen was driving a 2019 Lexus RX 350 east on I-10. For reasons still under investigation, the Lexus traveled off the roadway to the right before striking an overpass bridge railing and overturning. 

Nguyen, who was properly restrained, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. 

Toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
