Bogalusa – On July 15, 2025, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash on LA Hwy 21 at Lees Creek Road in Washington Parish. The crash claimed the lives of two Bogalusa residents, 86-year-old Donald Williams and 84-year-old Gwendolyn S. Williams.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Donald Williams was driving 2013 Lincoln MKS on Lees Creek Road toward LA Hwy 21. Simultaneously, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 21. For reasons still under investigation, the Lincoln entered the intersection and traveled directly into the path of the Hyundai, which struck the Lincoln on the driver's side.
Donald Williams and Gwendolyn S. Williams, who were both properly restrained, sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals where they later succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, who was properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital. As part of the ongoing investigation, routine toxicology tests were performed on both drivers.
Troopers wish to remind motorists to always remain vigilant when approaching and entering intersections. Always come to a complete stop where required, scan for oncoming traffic in all directions, and proceed only when it is safe to do so. Obeying traffic signals and right-of-way rules, avoiding distractions, and never driving while impaired are critical steps in preventing serious crashes and saving lives.
