Dirt Bike Rider Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in St. Tammany Parish

Covington – Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on May 15, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash involving an off-road motorcycle on U.S. Highway 190 east of LA Highway 1077 in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Muhammad Connor of Snellville, Georgia.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Connor was riding a 2007 KTM off-road motorcycle east on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 190. At the same time, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on U.S. Highway 190 and was attempting to turn right into a private drive. For reasons still under investigation, the off-road motorcycle struck the right side of the Toyota as it entered the driveway.

Connor was not wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Tacoma was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is unknown; however, routine toxicology samples will be obtained and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police reminds all motorists and motorcyclists to make safe decisions while on the roadway. Motorcyclists should always wear DOT-approved helmets and avoid operating their vehicles unsafely. Louisiana law prohibits motorists from driving on or passing on the shoulder of a roadway. We encourage all riders to take an approved motorcycle safety course.
