Denham Springs Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish

Denham Springs – At 7:30 p.m. on September 22, 2024, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a two-vehicle crash on LA 1019 near Perkins Road in Livingston Parish. The crash claimed the life of 20-year-old Noah Sanders of Denham Springs.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Cadillac ATS, driven by Sanders, was traveling eastbound on LA 1019. At the same time, a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on LA 1019. For reasons still under investigation, the Cadillac traveled across the centerline, entered the westbound lane of traffic, and impacted the Chevrolet in a head-on manner.

Sanders was properly restrained but was pronounced deceased on the scene. A front-seat passenger in the Cadillac was also properly restrained, suffered moderate injuries, and transported to a local hospital. Both the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet were unrestrained, suffered severe injuries, and were transported to a local hospital. Impairment is not a suspected factor in this crash, however, standard toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis. This crash is still under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted; follow all traffic laws, and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
