Denham Springs Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Livingston Parish

Denham Springs – Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on October 10, 2026, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single-vehicle crash on LA 16 near Rolling Acres Drive in Livingston Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of a 34-year-old man from Denham Springs.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Toyota Sequoia was traveling south on LA 16 at a high rate of speed. While attempting to negotiate a left-hand curve, the Sequoia traveled off the right side of the road, overturned multiple times, and struck a culvert.

The driver was unrestrained and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A front seat passenger in the Sequoia was properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Impairment is unknown; however, a routine toxicology sample was collected and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police wishes to remind motorists that speeding significantly reduces a driver's ability to safely navigate curves, react to changing roadway conditions, and maintain control of a vehicle. Additionally, wearing a seat belt is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of serious injury or death in a crash. Troopers urge all motorists to obey posted speed limits, remain attentive, and ensure every occupant is properly restrained on every trip.
