Denham Springs Man Killed in Livingston Parish Crash
Denham Springs – Just after 11:00 a.m., on October 22, 2025, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash on LA 16 near Vincent Road in Livingston Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 79-year-old Billy Deloach of Denham Springs.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1997 Ford Ranger, driven by Deloach, was traveling south from a private driveway and attempted to cross LA 16 to enter another driveway. At the same time, a 2016 Lexus RX 350 was traveling east on LA 16. For reasons still under investigation, Deloach failed to yield to oncoming traffic as he crossed LA 16 and was struck on the passenger side by the Lexus.
Deloach sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Seat belt use on his part is unknown at this time. The driver of the Lexus was properly restrained and was uninjured. Impairment is not a suspected factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make responsible choices when driving: avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions. Follow traffic laws and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
